SAMSUNG E&A, accelerating the establishment of a global energy transition ecosystem

- E&Able Tech Forum held on 5 September 2024…about 250 domestic and international corporate representatives attended

- Disclosure of technology solutions and roadmaps in the energy transition sector… expanding global partnerships

SAMSUNG E&A (formerly Samsung Engineering), a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced today that it successfully held the E&Able Tech Forum, which was prepared to achieve net zero in the energy transition era.


SAMSUNG E&A held the E&Able Tech Forum, under the theme ‘a place to communicate about the energy future’, at the Global Engineering Center (GEC) at its headquarters in Sangil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul.


‘E&Able’ is a compound word created that ‘SAMSUNG E&A ‘with their technology ‘is “Able” to develop future businesses.


This forum, held for the first time this year, was organized to inform potential clients of the technology solutions and roadmaps that SAMSUNG E&A is investing in and developing in response to the rapidly accelerating energy transition era and to seek new business opportunities with participating companies.


The E&Able Tech Forum was established to inform potential clients of the technology solutions and roadmaps that SAMSUNG E&A is investing in and is further developing in response to the rapidly accelerating energy transition era to explore new business opportunities with participating companies.


Approximately 250 people attended the forum, including SAMSUNG E&A’s President & CEO Hong Namkoong, global partners in the energy transition field, domestic and international clients, universities, and venture capital firms.


The forum, held under the theme of ‘Fostering Bridges to Enable a Sustainable Future,’ began with an opening speech by SAMSUNG E&A’s President & CEO Hong Namkoong, followed by the presentation of the ‘Energy Transition Technology Roadmap’ by SAMSUNG E&A’s EVP Head of Sustainable Solutions Division, Cheonhong Park.


In the energy transition technology roadmap released, SAMSUNG E&A expressed its ambition to become an energy solution company that creates a sustainable future through the development and commercialization of technology solutions centered on three axes:

▷E&Able Low (low carbon), ▷E&Able Zero (carbon-free), and ▷E&Able Circle (environment).


The forum's highlight consisted of technology presentations, panel discussions, featured presentations, and discussions by experts in each field on seven major technology solutions in the energy transition and environment fields, including carbon capture, blue hydrogen, green hydrogen, e-fuels, organic waste treatment, and sewage reuse. Further time was invested in discussing the future direction of energy technology development.


In his opening speech Hong Namkoong, President and CEO of SAMSUNG E&A said: “SAMSUNG E&A has established a mid- to long-term core strategy of ‘addressing societal challenges with technology’ for sustainable growth, and is accelerating the promotion of new businesses in the energy transition and environmental technology sectors.” Further added: “Starting with this forum, SAMSUNG E&A will continue to provide a platform for exchange and cooperation for the future and take the lead in creating a sustainable future.”
